Happy Lunar New Year

2025-01-24

Snake, one of the twelve zodiac animals in the lunar calendar, is arriving on January 29th. Year of snake represents time of transformation, rebirth, and new opportunities.

According to legend, the Jade Emperor (king of heaven) held a race to select twelve animals, forming the current zodiac order: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig.

In Taiwan, during the Lunar New Year, people go shopping for presents, post spring festival couplets, set off firecrackers, give red envelopes to convey blessings and visit temples to pray for peace and success in the coming year.

Lunar New Year is the most important festival in our tradition, symbolizing the end of the old year and the beginning of the new year of hope, while also conveying blessings for the future.
